// FRIDAY DEVLOG #2 // But it's actually Sunday
ok yeah, it's the second log and I already missed a friday, it's called adhd.
so! i'd say this week was one of much advancements! remember that thing i said about doing the bgs fully on blender? i lied, i just can't with blender. what i'm doing instead is a very sneaky-tricky-notatallcreative alternative to drawing the bgs on my own: download free models for blender, posing them, screenshot them, and trace them on my drawing program. is this the best option? no, honestly not. but it's what i have, i simply CANNOT draw buildings on my own. of course, every asset i use, although not present IN game, i am going to credit as it's due. so, right now i'm working on fixing the front manor bg, since i'm not satisfied at all with what i have right now.
but, since I can't keep my focus on one thing for long, i took a break from the bg and redrew mitella's sprite, and added a second expression, with more to come. since the thing I love the most about drawing is drawing pretty girls, these came out in a flash, and i'm very proud of myself! you can actually see her neutral expression in the cover! the pose is much more dynamic than before, it expresses her character much better, and the shading is much much better. can't wait to start working on the coachman's new sprites!
May not sound like much, but I'm very proud of what I've accomplished this week!
now, let's talk about VOLUNTEERS!
UMM:UV is a project based on volunteer work, people in it just for the art. if you are a bg artist, bgm composer, or a gui designer, please join the DISCORD SERVER and submit your application! we'd love to have you with us <3 here's the invite: https://discord.gg/QpUBS9Td
that would be all for this friday! thank you so much for reading <3
kisses, numi
